The aim of the project is to protect the unique Sungai Wain Protection Forest and its rich lowland biodiversity from fires, encroachment, and poaching by providing our community forest ranger teams with the logistical support necessary to conduct full time patrolling.

Enabling these patrol teams will assist with protection of a myriad of endemic and endangered Bornean lowland species of flora and fauna. More than 50 species of trees in the reserve are listed as CR [21 species], EN [11 species], and VU [18 species], 16 mammal species are listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List, as well as many bird species.
