The Van Tienhoven Award especially targets persons working on practical nature conservation at the grassroot level, such as game guards, game guides, local authorities, villagers, volunteers, etc.
The VTS Award consists of a honorary medal and certificate for the nominee and a subsidy for him and his colleagues.
Those eligible for the Van Tienhoven Award are individuals
- Working at grassroot level of nature conservation outside developed countries;
- Proven outstanding performance;
- Having contributed directly and practically to nature conservation, for many years under difficult conditions.
Nomination of Candidates
Candidates for the Van Tienhoven Award can only be nominated by organisations or persons that have been recipients of financial support of the Van Tienhoven Foundation, and by members and former members of the Board.
Publicity, nationally and internationally, around the awarding of the Van Tienhoven Award will be stimulated and appreciated by the Board of Van Tienhoven Foundation.
The Board of The Van Tienhoven Foundation elects winners for the Van Tienhoven Award in September of each year. Nominations for the Van Tienhoven Award must be submitted in English before August 15th through the nomination form.
